Facilitating Body-to-Mind Sensations in Trauma Healing
Session Description:
Somatic approaches to healing trauma are becomming more mainstream. More nuanced is how we facilitate the mind-body connection. Too often by default, this facilitation occurs from mind-to-body and leans heavily on mindfulness techniques, body scans/visualizations, and breathing exercises. There are other ways and other skills to acquire. The body teaches the mind at both conscious and sub-counsious levels, and its healing potential is being under-utelized. Attendees leave with new ways of thinking about the two-way street between mind and body, as well as some practical techniques to employ with their clients. This workshop includes som electure, experiential exercies, and optional partner work.
